1965 Councill High Football Team Honored

The undefeated 1965 Councill High football team will be inducted into the Huntsville-Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame in April.

According to The Huntsville Times, Councill, which was Huntsville's first public school for black students and was shutdown in 1967, finished 9-0 in 1965, winning the North Alabama High School Athletic championship.

12 individuals will be enshrined in the spring including Allen Wayne Paseur of New Hope High School, Tim Stowers of Grissom HS and John Walters and Patt Wynn of Huntsville High.

Highland Home HS Hopes Pinkston Can Turn Around Football Fortunes

After only one win in the last two years, Highland Home High School is pinning its hopes on new head football coach Tom Pinkston.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports that Pinkston is looking forward to his first-ever head coaching job.

Hoover Snaps Prattville's Streak of Three Straight Alabama High School Football Championships

Hoover beat Prattville 28-23 Friday to snap the Lions streak of three straight Alabama 6A high school football championships and 54-game in-state win streak. The win gives Hoover its 8th overall state title.

The Birmingham News reports that the Bucs almost blew an 18 point lead.
